Small Mexican tequila labels rarely get the shelf space they deserve, and this anejo is a chance to drink outside the big names. Anejo status means at least a full year in oak, long enough for the spirit to darken, sweeten and lose the sharp edge of youth, and this one is made in a traditional register rather than a heavily oaked modern one.
Look for cooked agave under caramel, dried fruit and light baking spice, closing warm and softly sweet. Drink it neat in a small glass at room temperature, after dinner, in place of a brandy or an aged rum.
