Product Description
First-fill American oak is the most flattering wood a whisky can meet. Fresh barrels give up their sweetness generously, and Balvenie uses them here to build a twelve-year-old Speyside malt that is bright, soft and openly approachable. Bottled at 86 proof, a touch above the usual forty percent, which gives the palate a little more grip.
Vanilla, coconut, honey and crisp orchard fruit lead, with a light toasted-oak spice and a clean, sweet finish. Neat in a tulip glass is the way to meet it, though it handles a single ice cube without falling apart. A very easy introduction to Speyside malt.
