Product Description
No distillery has done more to make sherry-cask maturation a mark of quality than Macallan. Its Easter Elchies home on the banks of the Spey has been producing single malt since 1824, and the twelve-year-old is the bottle that introduced most of the world to the house style: unusually rich, dried-fruit-forward and recognizable across a room of whiskies.
Expect dried fruit, vanilla, ginger and a warm oak sweetness, with the polished, faintly nutty character sherry-seasoned casks contribute and a smooth medium finish. It is remarkably easy to drink for something this layered. Serve it neat or with a few drops of water, and let it rest a minute before the first sip.
