Product Description
The oak for this whisky begins its life in Spain. Macallan has casks made from European oak, sends them to Jerez to be seasoned with sherry, and only then fills them in Speyside, a supply chain maintained at considerable expense because the distillery believes the wood is where the flavour comes from. Sherry Oak 12 is the purest statement of that conviction.
Deeply coloured and richly spiced, with dried fruit, orange, ginger, clove and a resinous oak sweetness that lingers. Serve it neat in a tulip glass, unchilled, and let it sit for a minute. One of the great after-dinner whiskies.
