Product Description
Rare Cask exists because of a number: only a small fraction of the casks arriving at Macallan are judged good enough for it. The whisky is built predominantly from first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak, the most expensive and most influential wood the distillery uses, with no age statement to distract from what the casks actually did.
The color alone tells you what is coming: raisin, black cherry, chocolate, vanilla and clove, with a dense, almost dessert-like richness and a very long spiced finish. Serve it neat, in a good glass, with time to spare. A showpiece bottle, and a genuinely luxurious one to open in front of people.
