Product Description
Finishing bourbon in a cask that once held cognac is a natural idea almost nobody executes well, because grape and grain pull in different directions. Thomas S. Moore, named for the man who ran the Barton distillery in Bardstown, makes cask finishing the whole premise of its range, and the cognac expression is the most elegant of the set.
The bourbon stays in charge, with caramel and vanilla joined by grape must, dried apricot, honey and a floral lift the cognac wood contributes. The finish is long and softly fruity. Drink it neat, or use it in a Vieux Carre where the cognac note ties the whole drink together beautifully.
