Product Description
There is a reason Chianti has been the default red on Italian tables for centuries: it is built around acidity and savory fruit, which makes it a food wine before it is anything else. Sangiovese does not flatter itself the way Cabernet does — it flatters what you are eating. At this price it is one of the most useful bottles in the store.
Bright sour cherry, dried oregano and a dusty, earthy close, with lively acid and modest tannin. Serve it cool, around 60 degrees. Made for red sauce: lasagna, meatballs, sausage pizza, eggplant parmesan, or a hunk of Parmigiano with bread and olive oil.
