Product Description
Medalla sits at the top of the Trapiche range and has been the winery's calling card since the early 1980s. This is the bottling that shows what Mendoza Malbec can do when the fruit is selected rather than simply harvested — depth, careful oak handling and a sense of proportion the category does not always manage.
The 2018 is plush but composed: blackberry, ripe plum and violet over vanilla, sweet spice and a dark chocolate edge, with velvety tannin and a long finish. Decant thirty minutes. Serve with ribeye, lamb chops, mushroom risotto or a board of aged cheeses. A bottle that justifies a better glass.
