Trentadue has farmed in Sonoma's Alexander Valley since the late 1950s, back when Zinfandel and Petite Sirah were planted side by side in the same rows and picked together. This red blend carries that old-California sensibility: generous, sun-warmed and built for a crowd rather than for a critic.
Jammy and soft, with blackberry, raspberry preserve and a sweet-spiced, faintly peppery finish that stays smooth from the first pour. Serve it just below room temperature. It handles barbecue especially well — pulled pork, brisket, grilled sausage — and it is an easy pour for a large table with wildly different tastes.
