Tsinandali is not a brand but a place, a village in Georgia's Kakheti valley that lends its name to a dry white blended from Rkatsiteli and Mtsvane. Georgia has been making wine for something like eight thousand years, and this appellation is one of the most welcoming doors into that long history.
The wine is crisp and faintly nutty, with quince, green apple, citrus peel and a stony, lightly bitter finish that makes it a natural partner for food. Chill it well and serve with khachapuri, grilled chicken, walnut-heavy dishes, sharp cheese or fresh herbs by the handful. A rewarding change of pace for drinkers tired of the usual whites.
