Watermelon is among the newer arrivals in Verdi's lineup of sweet Italian sparklers, and it is the most summer-specific of the bunch. The formula stays unchanged: light in alcohol, soft in bubbles, unapologetic about sugar, in a bottle that costs roughly what a movie ticket does.
It smells like watermelon candy and drinks much the same way, sweet and light with a quick, clean finish and no bite. Serve it very cold in a flute, or over ice with a wedge of fresh watermelon and a few mint leaves. Perfect for a hot afternoon, a pool party, a shower, or a dessert that needs something pink.
