Product Description
Madame Clicquot took over a small Champagne house in 1805 and spent the next half century inventing much of what modern Champagne production still relies on, riddling included. The Yellow Label brut is her house's calling card, and its recognizability was earned rather than marketed into existence.
Pinot Noir gives it the backbone: yellow apple, brioche, toasted almond and a firm citrus line, with a fine persistent mousse and a dry, chalky finish. Serve it cold but not frozen, in a tulip glass rather than a narrow flute. Oysters, fried chicken, aged Comte, or no food at all. The benchmark other brut Champagnes get measured against.
