Product Description
Watanabe Shuzoten has been brewing in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture since the nineteenth century, working with cold mountain water and the long hard winters that traditional sake brewing depends on. Hourai is the house label, and the Josen grade is its everyday expression — the bottle a Japanese household keeps on hand rather than saves for a celebration.
Clean and gently dry, with steamed rice, melon and a faint nutty warmth, finishing soft and short. It is versatile across temperatures: chilled in summer, warmed gently in winter. Serve it with grilled fish, gyoza, yakitori, tempura, or a simple bowl of rice and pickles.
