Product Description
The Austin Nichols Archives series revisits bottles from Wild Turkey's own past, and the Gold Foil edition answers one of the most requested: the export bourbon of the 1980s that collectors came to name for its wrapping. This release is sixteen years old, drawn from a small number of barrels in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and presented as the tribute it is.
Age shows itself as depth rather than dryness: dark caramel, dried cherry, leather, tobacco and layers of toasted oak, with baking spice and a finish that holds for a very long time. Pour it neat in a copita, add a single drop of water, and give it a quarter hour. A bottle for an occasion.
