Winter Jack blends Tennessee whiskey with apple cider liqueur and holiday spice, arriving at a low-proof punch designed to be warmed rather than shaken. It appears in autumn and vanishes by spring, which is part of the charm.
Baked apple, cinnamon, clove and a little orange peel over a light whiskey backbone, sweet without being heavy. Pour it into a mug and warm it gently on the stove, or serve it cold over ice if the weather refuses to cooperate. Much gentler than a whiskey bottle, which makes it easy for a crowd.
