Woodford Reserve comes from a historic Kentucky distillery on Glenns Creek, where copper pot stills do work almost no other bourbon maker bothers with. The result carries more weight and spice than the price suggests, and the smaller bottle makes an easy gift or a low commitment way to keep it around.
Dried fruit, toasted oak, cinnamon and a hint of orange, with a long finish that runs warm and dry. It is excellent neat, better over a single large cube, and it builds one of the finest old fashioneds you can make without thinking. A safe recommendation for nearly any whiskey drinker.
