Product Description
Primitivo and Zinfandel are the same grape wearing different passports, and southern Italy has been growing it under hot sun for generations. Zensa farms organically and bottles a version that keeps the variety honest: ripe, warm and full of sun without tipping into jam. For anyone who enjoys a big red but would rather it came from vines worked with care, this is a genuinely satisfying find.
The wine is deep and plush, with black cherry, plum, dried fig and a dusting of cocoa and sweet spice, finishing on soft tannins and a warm, savoury edge. Serve it a little cooler than the room and open it ahead of dinner. It suits lamb, sausage, aubergine, hard cheese and anything cooked slowly with tomato.
