Product Description
Old vines make a different wine. Their yields drop, their roots run deep, and the fruit they give up is more concentrated than anything a young planting can manage. ZinPhomaniac draws on old-vine Zinfandel from Lodi, California, the region that has arguably done more for the grape than any other, and the name signals up front that restraint is not the objective here.
This is a big, opulent red: brambly blackberry and raspberry jam, black pepper, vanilla and a sweet oak frame, with a plush body and a long, warming finish. Serve it slightly cool and pour it alongside barbecue, smoked brisket, pork ribs, burgers or a sharp cheddar. A wine for cold nights and generous portions, best enjoyed in moderation.
